Institutions for Mental Disease for PSYCHIATRIC Healthcare Reasons: The consumer is living in the facility because of his/her PSYCHIATRIC healthcare needs. There MAY be co-occurring physical healthcare needs, which is why the consumer would be placed in a skilled nursing facility rather than an Institution for Mental Disease or Mental Health Rehabilitation Center.
